Nick Salas - HC/Co-OC
Coach Nick Salas has been coaching athletes for more than 25 years across multiple sports and levels of competition. Influenced by the coaches and mentors who invested in him at a young age, Nick has developed a passion for using athletics to build character, develop leaders, and point young men toward Christ. As a Christian, father, teacher, and coach, he is committed to helping student athletes grow both on and off the field.
Nick’s coaching philosophy is built on several core principles. First and foremost, Christ is at the center of everything he does, believing that every aspect of life and competition should glorify the Lord. He believes in leading by example, serving others before himself, and earning trust and respect through daily actions. He emphasizes mastering the fundamentals, building teammates up through positivity and encouragement, and understanding that success is only achieved through teamwork. He challenges his players to enjoy the process of improvement, celebrate growth along the way, and fail forward by learning from every mistake and becoming stronger because of it.
Most importantly, Nick is passionate about investing in the next generation of young men. His desire is to use football as a platform to help athletes develop Christ-centered character, strong leadership, and a lifelong pursuit of excellence that impacts their families, churches, and communities.
Nick is excited for the opportunity to serve at CSCS and looks forward to seeing the plans the Lord has for the team this season.

Jim Warma - Assistant Coach
Coach James (Jim) Warma is a faith-driven leader whose purpose-driven foundation was forged on the gridiron starting at the age of five and refined by three decades of various leadership roles with the United States (U.S.) Air Force and Missile Defense Agency. His athletic journey began at Yukon High School, where he was a center on the basketball team for the “Millers” (1983-1987), but truly excelled as a football offensive and defensive lineman. Coach Warma’s passion for football led him to play for the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) Preparatory School in 1988 and the USAFA varsity team from 1989-1991, helping the Falcon’s capture consecutive Commander-in-Chief’s Trophies in 1989 and 1990, as well as secure a historic 23-11 upset of the No. 24 Ohio State Buckeyes in the 1990 Liberty Bowl. After a career-ending injury, Coach Warma transitioned to boxing to drop weight to meet U.S. Air Force standards. He anchored the USAFA boxing team as a heavy weight and went on to win National Collegiate Boxing Runner Up in 1991. Coach Warma’s coaching career started in 1993 as a USAFA Preparatory School offensive line assistant coach and continued as he coached his daughter through elementary and middle school volleyball and basketball. Coach Warma continues to defend our nation, by helping to develop and field complex missile defense programs including Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC), Space-based Kill Assessment (SKA), Hypersonic Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS) and the future Discriminating Space Sensor (DSS).
At the core of Coach Warma’s coaching style is a deeply rooted Christian faith and a strategic “Next Play” philosophy, which teaches athletes to learn from the past, but never dwell on it, and maintain an absolute focus on the future. His coaching playbook is anchored by three foundational Bible verses: Philippians 4:13 (“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”) to instill resilience and drive; Proverbs 19:21 (“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails”) to foster humility, and John 3:30 (“He must increase, but I must decrease”) to promote selfless, servant leadership. Coach Warma is dedicated to building elite team cultures, fostering character, and developing young athletes into resilient, team-first leaders both on and off the field.
