Responding the Way Lions Do

The CSCS Lions Volleyball team opened the 2026 season with an early test, and it did not take long for the Lions to show how they respond to adversity.

CSCS began the year against a strong Kent Denver team, falling 3–0 in the season opener. It was a challenging start, but one that gave the Lions an immediate opportunity to learn, adjust, and get back to work.

And that is exactly what they did.

Lions Bounce Back with a Sweep

Just days later, CSCS returned to the court against Valley and delivered a convincing response, earning a 3–0 sweep and moving to 1–1 on the season.

The turnaround reflected an important part of what CSCS Athletics is all about. Adversity is going to come. There will be difficult matches, tough moments, and opportunities to grow throughout a season.

Adversity does not define us. How we respond does.

For the Lions, the response was together. They competed with greater communication, energy, and trust while staying focused on finishing every point.

A Big Week Ahead

The Lions now turn their attention to a busy week of competition, including two opportunities to compete at home.

Thursday, September 3 at 6:00 PM
Atlas Preparatory School at CSCS

Saturday, September 5
Tournament play begins at 8:00 AM with a full day of competition ahead.

With the season just getting started, there is plenty of volleyball still to be played and plenty of opportunities for this team to continue growing together.

The focus remains simple:

Communicate. Bring energy. Trust each other. Finish every point.
