Five games. Five wins. And some of the biggest nights of the season are still ahead.

CSCS Football enters this week undefeated at 5–0, carrying plenty of momentum into an October schedule that will test the Lions on the road before bringing them home for one of the most anticipated nights of the year: Homecoming 2026.

The Lions added another impressive performance Friday night, defeating Byers 45–6 at home. The victory followed a 49–0 win over Ellicott and gave CSCS its third win this season by more than 30 points. Through five games, CSCS has outscored its opponents 185–50.

But the story of this team goes beyond an undefeated record.

FINDING DIFFERENT WAYS TO WIN

Throughout the first half of the season, the Lions have shown they can win in different ways.

CSCS opened the year with a commanding 49–14 victory over Holyoke before traveling to Woodland Park and battling through a 22–16 road win. Another challenge followed at Rye, where the Lions came away with a 20–14 victory.

Then came another gear.

CSCS shut out Ellicott 49–0 before returning home and defeating Byers 45–6.

Close games. Road tests. Dominant performances.

Through each of them, the Lions have continued to find a way.

And people around the Pikes Peak region are taking notice.

Last week brought additional recognition to the program through KRDO13’s Friday Night Blitz coverage. Head Coach Nick Salas joined KRDO Sports Director Rob Namnoum ahead of the Byers matchup, quarterback Fisher Tenpas was selected as one of KRDO’s Friday Night Blitz Players of the Week, and the CSCS school community earned the Friday Night Blitz Spirit Award.

It’s another sign of the energy growing around this team and this program.

THE ROAD AHEAD

Now the Lions enter an exciting and important stretch.

First up is a trip to Bennett on Friday, October 2, where CSCS will kick off at 7:00 PM in another conference road matchup.

Then comes another major test.

On Saturday, October 10, the Lions travel to Limon for a 2:00 PM kickoff. Limon also enters this stretch undefeated and has established itself as one of the top teams in Colorado’s Class 1A.

It’s exactly the type of opportunity competitors want.

But as exciting as the next two road games will be, they’re also building toward something special back home.

OCTOBER 16: COME HOME, LIONS

Circle the date.

Friday, October 16.

Homecoming. Under the lights. At our CSCS Home Field.

After two consecutive road games, the Lions return home for a 7:00 PM Homecoming kickoff, and we want the entire CSCS community there.

Before the game, we’ll gather for a big Homecoming tailgate, bringing together students, families, staff, friends and generations of Lions before filling the stands for Friday night football.

And this year, we’re putting out a special invitation to our CSCS alumni: Come home.

Whether you graduated recently or walked these halls decades ago, you are part of the story of Colorado Springs Christian Schools.

You wore the colors. You sat in these classrooms. You competed on these fields and courts. You cheered from these stands. You helped build the traditions today’s students now get to carry forward.

On October 16, we want generations of Lions back together again.

Come to the tailgate. Reconnect with old friends and teachers. Meet today’s CSCS families. And then join us under the lights as the next generation of Lions takes the field.

This is your school. This is your community. Come home.

SOMETHING SPECIAL IS BUILDING

There is plenty of football still to be played.

An undefeated start doesn’t guarantee what comes next, and Bennett and Limon will provide significant challenges before the Lions return home.

But that’s part of what makes October so exciting.

This team has earned the opportunity in front of it.

More importantly, every game provides another opportunity to pursue what CSCS Athletics is ultimately about: competing with excellence, growing as teammates and young men, and representing Jesus Christ well in the way we prepare, compete and respond.

Our vision is simple:

Christ Be Magnified Through Excellence in Athletics.

Five games into the season, we’re incredibly proud of this team, its coaches and the community surrounding them.

Now it’s time to keep building.
