Six games. Six wins.

The Colorado Springs Christian Lions are officially 6–0 after another dominant performance Friday night, defeating Bennett 45–6 on the road.

CSCS jumped out to a 26–0 halftime advantage and never looked back, recording its second consecutive 45–6 victory. Four of the Lions’ six wins this season have now come by at least 35 points as CSCS continues an impressive undefeated run.

But this week, the challenge gets bigger.

UNDEFEATED VS. UNDEFEATED

On Saturday, October 10, CSCS travels east for one of its most anticipated games of the regular season: a matchup with perennial Class 1A powerhouse Limon.

And there will be plenty on the line.

CSCS: 6–0.
Limon: 6–0.
Saturday, October 10.
2:00 PM.
At Limon.

Both teams enter Saturday undefeated, setting up a major Class 1A matchup between two programs that have taken care of business through the first half of the season.

Limon has once again established itself among the top teams in the classification. MaxPreps currently lists the Badgers at No. 1 in its Class 1A divisional rankings, underscoring the caliber of opponent awaiting the Lions on Saturday.

For CSCS, that’s exactly what makes this week exciting.

Great teams want opportunities to be tested.

TWO DIFFERENT STYLES. ONE BIG MATCHUP.

Saturday also brings together two teams that have found success in different ways.

Through the available MaxPreps statistics, Limon has leaned heavily on its rushing attack, averaging approximately 246 rushing yards per game, while CSCS has produced much more of its offense through the air, averaging 218 passing yards per game. Yet their overall offensive production is remarkably close: CSCS averages approximately 339 total yards per game compared with 336 for Limon.

That sets the stage for an intriguing matchup and another opportunity for the Lions to show how much they have grown.

From the 49–14 season-opening victory over Holyoke to hard-fought road wins at Woodland Park and Rye and commanding victories over Ellicott, Byers and now Bennett, this team has continued finding ways to win.

Now comes their biggest test yet.

MORE THAN A RECORD

Being 6–0 is something worth celebrating. But the opportunity in front of this team is about more than protecting an undefeated record.

At CSCS, competition gives our student-athletes an opportunity to learn how to prepare, respond to adversity, trust their teammates and pursue excellence while representing Jesus Christ well.

Saturday provides another chance to do exactly that.

It will take discipline. It will take toughness. It will take teammates playing for one another from the opening kickoff through the final whistle.

Whatever the scoreboard ultimately says, these are the games competitors want to play.

Two undefeated teams.

A road environment.

A highly ranked opponent.

And an opportunity to find out what this group of Lions can do.

Then, the Lions turn their attention toward another special night: Homecoming at CSCS on Friday, October 16, when they return to Ragain Field for a 7:00 PM kickoff against Salida.

But first, there is business to take care of in Limon.

Six games down. Six wins earned.

Now the Lions get their biggest opportunity yet.

Let’s go, Lions!
