The CSCS Girls Flag Football team put together its most complete performance of the young season Wednesday night, defeating Bruce Randolph 44–0 and moving to 2–1 on the season.
After a challenging night against Fountain-Fort Carson at the Pikes Peak Kickoff Classic, the Lions responded exactly the way you want a team to respond: together, with confidence and ready to compete.
And they made a statement on both sides of the ball.
Offense Finds Its Rhythm
The Lions’ offense came alive against Bruce Randolph, producing 44 points behind a strong performance from quarterback Hayley Helwege.
Helwege threw for 175 yards and three touchdowns, helping CSCS consistently move the ball and finish drives. Anna Glojek was one of her top targets, finishing with 65 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
It was an encouraging offensive performance for a Lions team continuing to find its identity early in the season.
Defense Sets the Tone
As impressive as the offense was, the CSCS defense was equally dominant.
The Lions held Bruce Randolph scoreless, intercepted two passes and recorded three sacks. Danika Reinhard and Emma Kenney each recorded interceptions, with Kenney turning hers into a touchdown.
Up front, Tashyla Johnson created problems throughout the game, recording two sacks as the Lions continually pressured the Bruce Randolph offense.
The result was a true team victory: points from the offense, points from the defense and a shutout on the scoreboard.

The Lions opened the season with a 12–0 shutout over Skyview, faced adversity in a 20–7 loss to Fountain-Fort Carson at the Pikes Peak Kickoff Classic, and then responded with their biggest offensive performance of the season against Bruce Randolph.
That’s growth.
That’s what competition is supposed to produce.
Now 2–1, the Lions have an opportunity to keep building on that momentum as the season continues.
